In a smoke filled room, deep within an urban jungle, a star is born. Hippie (a.k.a. Jack Spade, Thomas Harris, etc…) dances to a crowd of whooping, sweating people. Feeling under appreciated he packs up his gear, (g-strings, cheese sandwiches and granola) and heads west, at least what he thought was west. Arriving in Massachusetts he came across the most unlikely place to dig in his roots and create a new life. X Body Art Emporium is the name of this fabulous tattoo shop. With owner Paul Sobreiro, and piercer Kenneth Rothwell, they became a Trident of Supreme Awesomeness. The Void in his heart was almost full. A grueling apprenticeship and many cheese sandwiches later a rugged outline of a man emerged from this boyish exterior. As a changed man, Hippie spends every waking hour eating, drinking and giving tattoos. Tattoos took over his life much the same way food took over “Mama” Cass Elliot's. Anyone interested in meeting this spectacle can find him at X Body Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you listen closely during a full moon you can still hear him cry for the days when he was in that smoke filled room, beneath a curtain of mystery, dancing……….topless.
